A Friend
A friend is like the blessing of a soul, the beginning
A gift of God, the joy within
The throb of heart that continues life
The clouds that beautify the abandoned sky.
A best friend helps like the snow protecting the mountains,
And glaciers giving birth to the joyful rivers
That flows all the way to quench the thirst
Like that one drop of water that relieves the earth.
A best friend is found rare
Like that shimmering pearl deep in the sea.
Like that one little lucky flower
That outlives the others and grows to be one's mascot
All the way through the barren deserts and rugged mountains
Even at its peak.
A best friend can be identified,
Like that one glittering pole star
That outshines the others just to please the gazer
And guides you all the way side by side
Like the rainbows succeding the rain
Bringing a smile after the pain...
My best friend is not the pole star
Neither is it that lucky flower
Nor can it be a rainbow
But just a person with whom when I am
Counts up to the descriptions above!
